Clinical Microneedling &
Dermal Regeneration

SkinPen is a medical-grade microneedling treatment designed to support collagen production, skin renewal and improvements in overall skin quality.

Through the creation of controlled micro-channels within the skin, treatment stimulates natural regenerative processes associated with collagen remodelling, tissue repair and long-term skin renewal.

Suitable for a broad range of concerns including acne scarring, enlarged pores, textural irregularities and early age-related skin change, treatment pathways may be tailored according to individual concerns, skin condition and treatment objectives.

SkinPen is frequently integrated with regenerative therapies, medical-grade skincare and advanced skin health programs to support both immediate recovery and long-term treatment outcomes.

THE AESTHETE APPROACH

SkinPen® FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

SkinPen may be suitable for individuals seeking improvements in skin quality, textural irregularities, enlarged pores, acne scarring and early age-related skin change. Suitability varies according to your skin condition, concerns and treatment objectives. Consultation and assessment are required to determine whether SkinPen forms part of the most appropriate treatment pathway for you.

Most patients return to normal daily activities within 24 to 48 hours. Temporary redness, warmth and mild sensitivity are common immediately following treatment and generally resolve over the following days. Recovery varies according to individual healing response and treatment intensity.

Initial improvements may become visible within several weeks as the skin recovers and renews. Continued improvements typically develop over subsequent months as collagen remodelling progresses. Results evolve gradually and continue to improve over time.

Treatment recommendations vary according to the concerns being addressed and the outcomes desired. While some individuals may benefit from a single treatment, a series is often recommended to achieve optimal results. Your practitioner will provide personalised guidance following consultation and assessment.

  • Mild skin concerns: 3-4 sessions
  • Acne scarring & deeper wrinkles: 4–6 sessions
  • Stretch marks & deep scars: 6+ sessions

Treatments are spaced 4–6 weeks apart to allow the skin to regenerate properly.

At Aestheté, SkinPen forms part of a broader approach to skin health and regeneration. Treatment recommendations are guided by consultation, advanced skin analysis and long-term planning, allowing SkinPen to be integrated with complementary therapies, regenerative treatments and medical-grade skincare where appropriate. This ensures treatment remains aligned with your individual concerns and objectives.

Results vary between individuals and are influenced by factors including age, genetics, lifestyle and ongoing skincare. While collagen remodelling continues for several months following treatment, maintenance treatments may be recommended as part of a long-term skin health strategy.

Most patients describe the experience as manageable, with sensations varying according to the treatment area and treatment intensity. Your practitioner will tailor treatment parameters accordingly. Topical anesthetic can be applied prior to treatment to improve comfort.

Preparation requirements vary according to your individual treatment plan. Prior to treatment, your practitioner will provide personalised guidance regarding skincare products, sun exposure, medications and any additional preparation requirements relevant to your treatment.

  • Avoid retinol, AHAs, and BHAs for 5–7 days before treatment
  • Stay hydrated to support skin healing
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for 48 hours pre-treatment

As with any medical procedure, SkinPen carries potential risks and complications. These may include temporary redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, infection, prolonged inflammation, pigmentation changes or delayed healing. A comprehensive consultation and informed consent process will be undertaken prior to treatment to ensure suitability and understanding of potential risks.
